The Power of Pilates

Complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.

Pilates is the practice of controlled breathing and movement, which works to build muscle strength, increase flexibility, and improve posture and balance.

Pilates exercises can be adapted to provide gentle strength training, strenuous exercise, or anywhere in between – all while restoring your mind through engaged breathwork and controlled releases. Reformer Pilates incorporates the use of a reformer machine – with its springs, resistance straps, and select attachments – to assist you through targeted movement sequences (“flows”) and amplify your workout.

Change happens through movement and movement heals.
— Joseph Pilates

Pilates movements are low-impact, meaning less stress to your joints, but they still use a powerful combination of cardio, stretching, and strength-training that is capable of the same intensity as popular HIIT workouts. This versatility makes Pilates a great fit for new or limited exercisers, fitness enthusiasts, skilled athletes, and everyday people. Since its development by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century, it has grown to become the go-to fitness regime for millions around the world who want to feel stronger and live healthier longer.

At R8 Reformer Club, we embody core Pilates principles into a personalized practice that helps you recharge, reform, and reimagine your capabilities through your mind and body.
